Pasting Someone's Review . I Can;t Tell,Write Anything.
This is hands down one of the best remakes ever made in Bollywood. The makers have done a terrific job to keep the emotional rollercoaster intact. Don't know about you but Jersey >>>>>> Kabir SIngh. Shahid was absolutely sensational as the flawed Kabir though not even an inch wrong and the music was superb by Sachet-Parampara but overall seeing the story and all this isn't even a controversial statement for me. It breaks my heart to see this movie underperform at the box office when a far lesser story 3 years ago was a blockbuster which was also a remake. Anyhow first things first the story is absoutely heart-touching and I have seen very few sports movies with such a human and heartfelt story with it. I cried at the climax. Yes the superhuman batting abilities of the lead character is little unrealistic but come on that is cinematic treatment nobody will love the protagonist taking singles every ball we all want sixes. the cricket sequences are well shot and looked authentic and even the Ranji kits of all the teams looked quite good. Sachet-Parampara have given the most underrated soundtrack of recent years I mean all the 4 songs sung by Sachet as well I listen to them everyday on loop especially Mehram is still stuck inside my head. The BGM is superb as well. Yes there are slow patches in the movie and the length is little bit much....I gave the disclaimer so expect accordingly but I did not feel bored even for a moment because I was invested in the journey totally. Lastly the performances are absolutely world class by the 4 leading actors. The child who was there in the original as well I am so sorry I do not remember his name is super adorable. Mrunal Thakur gave such a mature and natural performance both in the flashback and current time she definitely is an actress that deserves far more chances. And then the father-son Duo Shahid and Pankaj Kapoor I don't even have words for their effortless performance. Pankaj Sir is a legend he needs no more introduction and he was so so captivating in this film but Shahid Kapoor bloody hell yet again shows that if not for the awful script choices he has had throughout his career, he is one of the finest actors in India. The total overhaul he has gone through since Haider not that he was bad before that, is just remarkable. He just left me stunned with the portrayal of this man and felt absolutely relatable. For his performance alone you should watch it. If you have seen the original and you thought he cannot take Nani's place. just watch the scene when he goes to the railway station and then when the train arrives you know what he does if you have seen the original, look at his effortlessness in that complex scene there and let me know if anyone could have done it better.
