Anyone who says you need to give this game sometime despite its flaws and you can have fun. I say to put out a product worth paying for it has to work first. This game is a laggy, janky, poorly designed survival game. If you dont have friends to make the experience somewhat enjoyable (and no you cant load in with friends, you just have to play the same server and find your friend wherever they spawned randomly on the 225km² map this game has, and there is no in game map for realism). Without help you will starve 9/10 times before you even get to the fun of fighting off zombies and other players. Which I understand to the gameplay standpoint but to have a single piece of food per 100 houses searched is beyond poor game design. Do not invest. Try it out on gamerpass, but let me assure you it takes some very special people to push past this games problems.

This is a great game dont get me wrong, although being I have spent 150hrs of playtime and completed most everything (minus some mysteries and wealth), finished the new river raids mode, this game doesn't offer much replayability yet. After you finish the game there really isn't much to do until the first dlc comes out, kinda makes you just put down the game till then as there is little to no constant content to keep you engaged, they have offered new game plus eventually for past titles so hopefully it will eventually be added to this but until then that is the reason for a missing star. The other star is gone because they still have yet to build a better ai system, especially in cities and what not, like let's take London, you can walk around the city and unless you are in the marketplace you might catch 4 npcs walking on the road around you, makes you feel like the city is empty when at that time period it had a population of about 14-16,000. Then the ones that are there repeat the same animations over and over again. I love going into games to get sucked in and feel like I'm living through an experience, and with this game, it does very much feel like a video game (all except Eivors and Sigurds storyline) which they just didnt expand or focus on like they should. Campaign felt very disconnected and also felt as if they turned what could and should have been big side quests into main story lines and it just felt cheap and like they didnt want to try their hardest to make cohesive story. Either way give me new game plus and a reason to come back and my review will improve. Also its 2021, why the hell does the foliage still only load in 20 feet in front of you, I want this game to look good but its hard when any hill from a just over 20 feet looks like its molded from clay. Really causes the vast views from things like waypoints to just fall short of jaw dropping.

And I thought gears 5 was pretty rocky rn, so here I come from that to enjoy a new game. Nothing was enjoyed with the latest entry, got the year 2 edition for $20 and not 2 days later I wish I would have put that $20 into gears 5. Game is unplayable with no dev support. They abandoned ship so buying the game from this point forward is just a waste of money. Just wait for next gen games coming this fall.

Two stars for the open world. As that is all this game has going for it. Besides that the in game physics are so off to the point where driving doesn't feel good in any way (seasoned forza and nfs player). Another big problem is there is no difficulty adjustment so some races where you just can get the requirement like being in top 3 become impossible if your car simply isnt more powerful, there is no skill type of play in this game. Car selection is small and makes no sense in terms of performance and price. All cars feel the same to drive which gives no incentive to try and upgrade. Just overall ubisoft should leave the racing games to the company's who specialize in it because they just dont have it

Let's not forget one of the head people at colition made a personal attack at the fanbase on twitter for being entitled and cant just accept the game for what it is. Well it's not a gears of war game and no OG fan of the series will ever care about this game if the developers keep working against them instead of with them. This game is broken, and my first long review with all the details wouldn't post... wierd huh. Dont waste your money, get game pass and try it like all 3 million people at launch, but there is a reason the player base isnt above 50,000 right now, dont waste your money, this game isnt worth it if you love the old gears of war
