Whisper Mason

I didn't think it terrible, but if you don't know Dune from before does this movie stand alone? If anything the 3021 version made me understand some of the choices from the 1984 version more. Ask yourself, at the end of this, despite the fact they are setting up for a 2nd, do you know what a mentat is? do you know why computers were banned? Do you know why they are fighting with blades and not guns? They do offer the shields but is the explanation and exposition enough to get the point across? Do you understand what the werding way is? Do you understand why there is less technology? Do you understand folding space? Do you know what a Navigator is? Do you understand the Benejeserits plot and how the reverend mother is part of the Emperors Court playing both sides? Do you understand why without spice the empire collapses? I don't know if I would from this version. Understood more is to come but there are a lot of things to set the stage that are missing that should be explained before ACT II
