Really Honest and self-reflective. Really loved some of the lines in this piece and am just so genuinely impressed The Strokes have made it this far. Not too often a band can come back strong.
Trying your best, but inevitably not measuring up to perfection, yet being careful not to be condemned by that either when people size you up to plan their attack. That careful balance:
"But then it don't make sense when you're trying hard
To do the right thing, but without recompense
And then you did something wrong and you said it was great
And now you don't know how you could ever complain"
I love it so much, how truthful it is. How reassuring it is. Just got the vinyl and am REALLY excited to receive it :)
