I'm generally always eerie of the remake of a classic tv show that was so prominent for high schoolers and a time capsule of the mid-2000s era of fashion. I was unsure what to expect from this series, but it's a disappointment. I only watched two episodes and a half, and I couldn't get into it. Besides, the actors are trying to copy and paste Blair, Serena, and Chuck, basically, the whole main cast, making it superficial.
I despise the fact that we know who Gossip Girl is from the first episode. I get that the show needs motive, but the reason the original Gossip Girl was so good is that we didn't know who it was. It gave the audience a little bit of mystery. The only plus side to the cast is the diversity, which excited me for the show.
Sometimes it's best to leave the classics where it is, just like they try to make a Mean Girls 2. It was not needed. Not everything needs a remake.
