I originally wanted to watch this because of the romance between Tom Holland and Ciara Bravo's characters. I enjoyed the film. It was heartwrenching, frustrating, and at times very funny (namely, the army Part) The fourth wall breaks were a nice little touch but sometimes felt out of place since Tom Holland would go an entire Part without breaking it. The camerawork reminds me of "The Grand Budapest Hotel" and it really set the scenes very well. I feel like there could've been some more development for Emily. There were times when I could hint at why she made a certain decision but since there was no real background for her it felt a bit hollow. I enjoyed the epilogue. Having Tom Holland's character with no dialog only slowly paced and slow music really brought home how monotonous Jail life is. I assumed that in the scene where he's on the computer, he was messaging Enily. I would've liked to see her development after he left but since this is a story about Tom Holland's character I understood why it may not have been shown.
All in all it was an enjoyable film, albeit a bit long. I also enjoyed hoe they tied in the beginning of the movie at the end.
