Nostalgia, in every sense of the word, rings through and through across the pages of this book. Written with genuine fervor and aguish, Portraits of the Wind conjures warm feelings of familiarity with a past never so far behind, and a present well aware of life’s many quandaries. Just as with a series of photographs, some in color, some black and white, we are made to rummage through a lore of memories, experiences of love lost, and love found, and witness the agony of longing for a light to shine through the crevices of daily existence. In his Debut Novel, the author brings forth his cinematic lens and attention to details, in a well-paced, emotionally charged narrative as he sheds light on a universal experience set in parts of the world many of us are less familiar with, if at all. He captures tender moments meticulously drawn in words with an artist’s wild imagination and a passion for the subject matter that’s clearly visible and most definitely relatable. Highly recommended. ****
