The Pacific isn't structured the way band of brothers was. The story line is more fragmented, random, almost chaotic. There is no cohesion among the men like its predecessor. BoB stresses the noble among the fighting men, even the Germans in the final episodes. They Pacific stresses the absolute horror and savagery of the fighting. There is little nobility, and certainly not attempts to relate to the enemy soldiers. Quite the opposite. There are scenes of our savagery that you would never see in BoB.
I'm probably one of the few who preferred the Pacific. I found it far more moving than the BoB. If you like things neat, tidy, and heroic, then BoB is more for you. But you walk out of the Pacific with a changed view of the world, at least as it relates to the second world war.
