Really bad. I love all the souls games and most souls likes, but this has just sooo many design choices that make you wonder what the devs were thinking. Some stuff is over explained, many things never get an explanation that are important, like fast traveling back to the hub, and the parries where you switch weapons and counter by holding r1+o. The morale/fortitude system is a half baked nightmare. It makes it so the entire difficulty of the game is based ONLY on how much you choose to explore the horrible maps and plant flags. You will take like 5x more damage if you have low morale from not exploring and planting flags, to the point you get one shot by a gentle breeze. The game is quite easy if you you get your morale to 25. Thing is , the fact that you lose morale by taking damage and dying only makes the game more difficult for people already struggling and easier for those not getting hit cause they keep their high damage output and high defense where people who struggle lose that and their enemies level up. Ridiculous. Should be the exact opposite. Horrible design to the point it’s nuts. The cutscenes are also mind numbingly bad and would be better without them. Can’t understand how so many reviewers gave this such high scores.
