Recommend this series overall. A few questionable plots, but overall worth watching.
I couldn’t tell if the orphanage head mistress was suppose to be bad or good. Beth going to the basement playing chess with an old man who is always there when she cleans erasers is odd. The fact no one noticed Beth missing from class as she played chess in the basement for what had to be a considerable amount of time. The fact you have a male janitor in a basement alone in a young girls school with whisky bottles in plain sight doesn’t make sense.
The ending was the best part! It showed teamwork that was eluded to regarding the Russians successes that I found refreshing and inspiring.
The relationship between Beth and her stepmother was not very believable. The relationship was not given enough time to evolve, so it just didn’t seem realistic. I didn’t care for the stepmothers performance at all, and found that was the only downside to this series.
