A great read. Didn't know what to expect but as a Francophile, an explorer and someone who would love to spend more time outdoors this was a great read. As well as giving a really solid & comprehensive narrative of the environment walked through there's plenty of flora & fauna interest as well as lots of local & national history all of which is fascinating and inextricably linked. The great crescendo towards the Alps and the end of the walk comes far too soon!
