I was pleasantly surprised with Virgin River and especially enjoyed Alexandra Breckenridge as Mel; her raw facial expressions puts me to mind of Natalie Wood from a few decades ago; and although the drama in the series can now and then feel contrived, great acting trumps everything. Netflix sure knows the winning formula for great television and also has the knack of finding hidden great talent.

I absolutely love, love, love this shown. Back in the aughts and right after Hurricane Ike, I wanted to buy a historic Galveston home and refurbish it but the pricey real estate taxes held me back. Since then, I've retired and still dream of either buying a fixer-upper or a lot to build my ultimate retirement home. I'm thrilled to see the show was renewed for a fifth season and can't wait to see what Ashley and Mike have in store for viewers this season.
