Disappointed. I have very much liked all the other Wes Anderson movies, but I found this one to be chaotic, tiresome, and boring despite many clever touches. The characters were cartoon like, mannered, and superficial. There were not enough quiet moments for contrast. There was humor, but of quite a precious nature. Anderson's hyper style in this movie overwhelmed everything. Parenthetically, it didn't remind me much of The New Yorker, my favorite magazine, or their contributors. It has gotten some excellent reviews so my opinion could well be a minority one.
