This movie is not the worst horror movie out there. It's a typical jump-scare movie after you are desensitized to La Llorona's appearance, because she is shown so often in the film. The movie explains the origins of La Llorona, but fails to explain how exactly she ended up in California. From what I knew of the folktale, La Llorona doesn't leave the river that she drowned her children and herself in, she is tied to it. Ignoring the part of the folktale was just blatant disregard for Mexican culture. The acting is great, kudos to the cast. Overall the movie is okay. I would recommend seeing it if you're looking for a little scare, but don't expect it to follow to traditional folktale of La Llorona.
