My name is Abul Hasan Naghmi. I was born and brought up in India in Sitapur ,near Lucknow, migrated to Pakistan at age 19 in 1950. This is the year when Khizr Khan Sahab was born. I am a poet and prose writer ,script writer and a celebrated internatioal broadcaster and Khan sahab Khizr Khan might be familiar with the name of BHAE JAAN NAGHMI of children program HONHAR of Radio Pakistan I was the bhae jaan and mohni Hameed was APA SHAMEEM .Many moons ago millions of children and their parents their dear bhae jaan and aapa jaan. In 1980ies it was like gold rush of America when thousands Pakistanis entered America as illegal aliens . But thanks ALLAH I was invited by US Government to come America as an international broadcaster for VOICE OF AMERICA . I have the honor to translate more than 20 books from English into Urdu. After my retirement I become more active .I started writing day and night. Now I am the founder of SOCIETY OF URDU LITERATURE ,( SOUL) ( anjuman_e_ADAB-URDU ) By my intensive studies I am convinced that bilingual and multilingual children are more smart and intelligent than monolingual children. I am trying day and night to convince the parents not to encourage their children to learn Urdu ,the national of their parents. We get together in a library in Springfield Virginia and under one roof from age 9 to 90 Pakistani Americans get together and give speeches ,read prose and poetry ,sing songs in Urdu . this is the 12th year of our society and I wish to have the honor to request you to preside at least one session .
