I'm a huge Tolkien fan and pretty "anti-woke" in most respects, but I'm also not a bell end. It's good, you should watch it. Beautifully made and, while it deviates in many ways from its source material, it is by no means a shoehorning of wokeness into Tolkien's works. Ignore the load of angry white blokes who clutch their pearls when a woman has a written character and isn't just used to symbolise purity or darkness. Casting of people of colour isn't laboured and made a point of, there's no implication of it becoming a proxy for a fictitious culture war or anything like that. Just a good show that's well cast and well written. My only real criticism is that the elves speak in a sort of stage school version of Victorian romantic English, but due to it being written by modern writers it can come off as tacky. Galadriel is pushed a bit too hard as a "badass girl boss" at times too, but that's a problem with all genders and races is modern action sequences. I want to see my main characters struggle and grow, but that's personal preference. 7/10, would recommend.
