The show is entertaining as a whole, but it has many MANY moments that seem overly simplistic, unexplained character decisions, changes of personality, it just seems poorly written and rushed. Lots of "teen soap opera" moments, so it's hard to tell who the intended audience really is. Seems they tried to make it for everyone: 80's young adults who watched the movies, teens who were into Twilight, books AND movies, children of 80's young adults being pushed by their parents to watch this classic in a strange adaptation to the new generation's social media behaviors. The flashbacks to try and explain or remind the audience of moments in the movies are super awkward, and the fact that the main characters' entire lives apparently revolved around the 3 hours of Karate Kid moments is laughable.
