I was unimpressed with the whole movie. Yes, she is a lonely obese woman. If parts of the film are a personality study into Jodie’s inner workings, it’s no wonder she is lonely and miserable. Most of us have some reserve of inner beauty to tap into - this character appears to have none. As much as I wanted to be sympathetic to the lead character’s plight, between the horrible dialog, wooden acting, and amateurish cinematography, I couldn’t connect with any of the characters.

I have a new appreciation and respect for Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, and Steve Carrell. All three have given us stellar, award-worthy and strong performances.
