Manikarnika:- “The moment we cry in a film is not whn things are sad but whn thy turn out to more beautiful than we expected thm to be”….The same is the case with this beautifully crafted Movie..Manikarnika.
This movie has captured all the highs and lows of Rani Lakshmi Bai…in a very picturesque and apt manner. Right from being a young brave girl Manu till becoming the ferocious Queen of Jhansi and then emerging out as one of the key leaders in the Indian Rebellion of 1857, all of those moments were well-crafted along with the great form of narration backed with a superb screenplay and thoughtful dialogues.
This is out and out Kangana’s film and she does full justice to the titular role along with her tight direction which makes the audience so engrossed throughout the lengthy film. Supported with handpicked of the marvelous supporting cast which contributed well to the historical events depicted onscreen but for the leading lady Kangana just one word: “Mindblowing”. Played by far one of her best roles till date… just like a tigress in her territory, she is just fearless, fierce, confident and a true brave-heart….overall a power packed and award-winning performance.
The only drawback is the length and fewer roles of the supporting cast. However, being all 3 Aces on her side (The Story writer Vijayandra Prasad, Prasoon Joshi & Bharat Song) this movie is a sure shot winner and would be a strong reply to both of her professional and personal critics. Surely a “Vijayi Bhava” at the box office and also at the hearts of millions.
