Went and saw this movie with my kids last night. They were all pretty engaged. The movie was bright and colorful. The jokes were pretty funny. The animation is wonderful. I really wasn't expecting much at all out of the movie and I ended up enjoying it quite a bit. The only thing about the movie that I thought were bad, and by bad I mean TERRIBLE was the voice acting on ZETA. Leslie Jones was not the right choice. Neither was Tiffany Haddish. They can do just fine in live action flicks but they are not good at voice acting and casting them as Zeta and Debbie kinda threw off the entire cast.

With in the first 10 minutes, this movie launched it's way to the top of the list of WORST movies I've ever seen. The remainder of the movie only continues to add nails to its metaphorical coffin. This movie was terrible... the songs sucked... I know this was one of the longest running Broadway shows in history...but how?! This was a disasterpiece. This was worse than Noah or A Wrinkle in Time.... I had to keep telling myself that if young men could storm the beach at Normandy then I could sit through this TERRIBLE film. I almost didn't make it.

Make no mistake, this is NOT live action; this is animation. The animators did a great job but the animation supervisor did not. None of the male characters have any balls! They "Ken-dolled" every character. All of that aside, the producers in charge of casting should have been replaced. Celebrities do not make great voice actors. It work with the 1994 film because they chose them very carefully and created the characters to match the actors. The voice acting was terrible. Mufasa, Scar, and Timon are the only ones that worked. Everyone else did not fit the character you were watching. None of the songs worked quite right... and the embellishments did more harm than help. Jon favreau did a fine job directing. But who ever made those bad calls mentioned above ruined it for me. 3.5/10. Just barely better than that trainwreck NOAH from 2014.
