I wish the characters were more grey than just black and white. I don't know why the makers decided to make Elena the obvious antagonist of the show. The most beautiful thing about the book was that all were fighting for themselves. They were vulnerable. Here, Elena is always nosy and Mia is always helpless. There is no depth to any of the characters. The relationship between Elena and Megan was also too dramatic to highlight the real chemistry. The show is not bad. It's just an opportunity wasted. This could have been the next 'big little lies' but it's just another hit and miss. P.S. The last episode of the show was just hideous.
