Nas and hit boy really ran it back again for the sequel in less than a year and came out with a product even better than the original. This just doesn’t happen at this age in this genre. Production is consistently great throughout And sonically adventurous as well as Nas’ flows. Lyrically/stylistically Nas showcases more ambition and steps out of his comfort zone more on this project than perhaps any I’ve heard from him. Subject matter is varied but focused. His ability to reach out to the younger generation as well and hold his own on these trap instrumentals without sounding forced or dated is impeccable. I almost get the feeling from this and the first Kings Disease that Nas is hitting his prime again and found new life on the mic. At age 47 this type of run isn’t supposed to be possible at this level after 30 years in the game. Time will tell where this ranks in his discography but this one will rank high up when it’s all said and done. maybe a top 5 Nas album. Just maybe.
