A damned good book of sadness, hope and a smattering of humour. Despite its themes of alcoholism, poverty, abuse, family breakdown and bullying, I found this book hard to put down. Despite this depressing mix I took a liking towards Shuggie, his mum and his siblings.
This is a book I'll never forget.
