Ponderous and a little boring, no character development to speak of so we don't care as much about the characters as one needs to in a film such as this where there's so much at stake for everyone involved. And Clooney plods through the entire film with a wide-eyed stare as if he'd just seen a ghost. All this and a production design that defies description, with a space ship interior that evokes a futuristic department store.
