To be honest, I couldn't believe I was reading another installation of the Twilight series. Reading the story from Edward's perspective was an entirely different experience... and I LOVED it~! You can definitely see an improvement in Meyers writing style. It's subtle, but effectively captivating. The flow, the details, even sentence structure--it created an experience I couldn't put down, but did not want to finish.
Going in, I had never really liked Edward all that much... or Bella for that matter. I picked it up for the nostalgia more than anything. But reading Midnight Sun offered a whole new perspective on their characters, and I can honestly say I appreciate them much more now. As soon as I finished, I even picked up my old copy of Twilight so I could compare every detail while they were still fresh in my mind, haha.
I am eagerly hoping (no matter how hopeless a desire) Meyer decides to continue retelling the entire saga from Edward's POV...!
