Compared to the absolute brilliance of the original, this sequel is a sad, pathetic cash grab. There are still some great moments, but 2 is altogether a lazier film, targeted at very young audiences. It lacks the omnipresent layers of meaning, sociopolitical commentary, and subtle adult humor that made the original Lego Movie so brilliant. I found myself bored watching this sequel, and couldn't even make it all the way to the end.
