I love Emelia, now that is out of the way: I was surprised how much I enjoyed the film. As an ex Londoner I am biased. I could identify with the main protagonist's discombobulation with life, and her dissonance. Her 'bird-with-the-broken-wing-syndrome' was very magnetic. The role allows Emilia's personality, personability and humanity to reveal itself. I did not detect the peripetia in the plot at all. And I must say I was deeply moved - remembering the passing of my father and my youngest brother, in addition to some departed friends, all in the last decade. If Emelia, didn't appear in this film, it would have passed me by, and I would have missed the experience. Look up.
