This was an AWFUL movie. Character dialogue and actions were unnatural, unlikely, and downright cheesy. The premise, although far-fetched, was interesting enough that i was curious to see where this would go. It was a complete waste of time though. I’m genuinely shocked that anyone gave this movie more than 1 star.

I watched this entire series when it was new on AMC and just got done binge-watching it on Netflix. Bates Motel is a true masterpiece. The overall plot of the series and the strong acting makes this show stand out. Scenes from the begging of the series tie into the end, making the last season very impactful. Each character has their own voice and individuality. Although the show is based on a previous idea, there is a dynamic and unpredictable element to the script. Side-plots prove to be relevant to the main topic of the story. Vera Farmiga (Norma) and Freddie Highmore (Norman) play their roles nearly perfect. Not only is Bates Motel entertaining, it delivers a message about mental illness and how easy it is for those around to miss or dismiss the signs. The show expands on the plot of the original ‘Psycho’ and gives not only a believable backstory but a convincing one. When a mentally ill person kills their mother and puts her remains on display in their home, there must be some precursors or traumatic events that lead to this point. Bates Motel explains how this happens and what circumstances surround this kind of violent, psychotic breakdown. Towards the end, the show exhibits the perspective of a mentally ill person and how their world may be drastically different than the reality of a sane person. This raises the question of culpability when it comes to the crimes committed by such a person. If you’re paying attention, you’ll feel empathy and compassion for Norman Bates. You’ll contemplate whether or not he is truly responsible for the crimes he committed.

Awful movie. So much wasted potential considering they had a decent cast and an intriguing premise. From beginning to end, Civil War was filled with pointless scenes that failed to create a coherent plot. No insight is provided as to why the country is at war. The film relies heavily on shock-factor in some of the gruesome scenes shown, but gives the viewer no reason to care due to the lack of story. Characters are not like-able, dialogue is corny, and character actions are illogical. Unfit music is played at odd times throughout the movie. In summary, this one was just a major flop.

I’m writing this review because it’s been 20 minutes since i finished watching this movie and i still feel sick to my stomach. I’m 26 years old, I’ve seen my fair share of horror, but this film is unlike anything i’ve ever encountered. There are images from this that will NEVER wash from my memory. For these reasons, it truly stands out as an unforgettable horror movie. Be forewarned - there are graphic depictions of sexual assault, unimaginable violence, and an overall vibe that is pure evil. People should understand that watching something this violent leaves impressions on the subconscious. Even for an adult, it’s genuinely upsetting and disturbing. This is certainly not something young minds should be exposed to. Although the movie is outstanding and effective in it’s horror, i wish that this kind of evil did not exist in the world. It really worries me that these depraved thoughts are produced, filmed, and become pop culture.

Horrible movie! Special effects were so cheesy, even for its time.

They went for the overused ‘teenagers solve a crime that police couldn’t and take justice into their own hands’ template. Very cliché and full of plot holes. Somehow the teenagers track the killer using dinosaur flip phones from 2004. Teenagers stage a murder to look like a suicide and the film purposely leaves out key scenes because at this point the story is too far-fetched. Crime movies should be realistic.

Rewind is an impactful, heartbreaking documentary with a truly important purpose. Sasha Neulinger, the victim of horrific childhood sexual abuse, tells his story with astounding bravery and resilience. The film exposes pertinent details of Sasha’s abuse in a careful yet unapologetic way. This exposure is absolutely necessary in order to command the attention that this topic deserves. Although these details are horrifying and gut-wrenching, do not look away. Do not avert your gaze from the monster that walks among us. This problem concerns our society as a whole. Every one of us is responsible for protecting our children and breaking the silence in order to ensure their safety. The end of the documentary offers a remarkable solution to the unfortunate re-victimization that many children face when seeking justice in our broken judiciary system. Sasha’s profound ability to turn his victimhood into a positive force is so powerful. It’s not often that a film leaves a person with this kind of feeling.

In my opinion this was an engaging, thrilling, and disturbing film packed with twists and turns. The dramatic plot keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering what the despicable antagonist (Brendan Fletcher) will do next. Fletcher did a very convincing portrayal of an unhinged psychopath with a dark history...a phenomenal performance on his part. Protagonist roles played by Henry Cavill and Alexandra Daddario were well-executed but could have possibly benefited from an improved script. The bad reviews most likely come from those who were not paying close enough attention. Simply put: Night Hunter was so good I watched it twice.

This was a terrible movie. I really wanted to like It. The casting was great, the actors did a decent job, and the 80’s nostalgia was on point. However, the film was horribly disjointed and came across as an acid trip. The book is about as thick as a dictionary, so i know that they had to cut some parts out. Despite the run-time being two and a half hours, every scene felt rushed. No suspense, all of the scares were obvious and the special effects were corny. They really missed the mark on this one.

According to what I’ve read, Netflix purchased rights to Slasher after season one and rebranded it with its “Netflix Original” misnomer. I have no idea why Netflix would want their name attached to this. The script is horrible and played by cheesy, overzealous actors. Characters are not likable/relatable and do not react to situations in a way that any reasonable person would. The show has no suspense which makes the violence pointless and uncalled for, even in a show called Slasher.
