At debates when the moderator(s) give a candidate a specific period of time to comment (2 minutes or whatever amount), the microphone for the other candidate(s) should be shut down so we the watchers can actually hear what the speaker has to say. The idea that whoever can shout louder and longer is allowed to drown out the speaker is an affront to what a fair debate should be.
