Cudos to Diana in working so hard to bring this story to film!!!
For those of you who have not read the books, over and over again, for the last 20+ years, shame on you. I would suggest doing that before you waste your breath on how 'dull' some episodes might seem to you. Does YOUR life only include YOU as the main character? Are there not other people in your life that take center
stage and influence your experiences in the world?
Yes, of course, there is artistic interpretation. How dull would the world be if we all thought precisely the same? I think it mahoosively important that other characters are knit into the fabric of the story.
Just imagine trying to synopsize your life into several seasons of a show. I think this undertaking is amazing, and if you have not read the books that demonstrate Diana's amazing skill in writing this most amazing tale, intertwining all the characters, all her intensive research....then it is your loss. Each book takes her near five years from conception to publication. I anxiously await the next book and in the meantime, re-watch the series and re-read each book. It is amazing how much is missed in one viewing/reading.
And popping back in forth in time is an integral part of the movie. It is the 'fantasy' part of the story, well...if you do not believe in lay lines in the world, that is.
And with my thoughts expressed, I wish everyone a good year, hearts open, faces smiling in spite of it all.
