"O Naive Bird-Come Back Home" 'Rockstar' I was not in any mood to write this now, but looking at ur preparations ,I was compelled to do so... So this is 24th Sept. and I am up with a review of one of your most favourite bollywood movie which now also secures a place in my favourite list. Starting with the acting, Ranbeer was just the best. He has completely outdone himself portraying the transformation from Janardhan to Jordan. Nargis Fakhri looks elegant and graceful on the screen as 'Heer' ,enough to compel you to fall for her.. You only get to see such marvelous acting skills from one like Ranbeer kapoor...He was all the way over my mind throughout the movie. And a small part by 'Dil Bechara' girl Sanjana Sanghi a.k.a Kizzie Basu a.k.a Mandy suited her really well.There was some another kind of innocence on her face.. Next comes the work of Imtiaz Ali with his amazing storytelling making you go on a exhilarating ride of emotions.. The meeting of Heer and JJ was good to watch as they explored there common weird interests taking risky tasks. The fact that the movie unfolds showing high-on-passion love, heartbreaking,self discovery,anger and sorrow makes it beautiful on the screen... How quickly JJ's life takes a turn,from wandering to become a superstar realising he has got no kind pain or heartbreak to meeting Heer and creating a bond with her which ultimately leads him to his ambition though at the cost of his social image and love life leaves an impact on the audience..Though Jordan becomes a 'Rockstar' he doesn't live a life of one such.. The director beautifully showed how a simple man on his quest to become like his idol Jim Morrison brings him on such a circumstance that there is no looking back despite the controversies.. Talking about the locations, the scenic beauty of Jammu and Kashmir and then Prague aids to its beauty cinematographically... The scene where Jordan shows middle finger to the media though his last song album earned him the fame internationally shows how deeply he was affected and broken. Coming to the third and the most impactful part of the movie i.e.Music and Songs.. A.R.'s godly music with Irshad Kamil's lyrics & miraculous voice of Mohit Chauhan was just divine and pure.. I would surely say that this movie has one of the best background score and soundtrack in Bollywood movies I have watched so far. All songs were enough to give you that immense feeling which is beyond words..The melodious fusion of religious and cultural essence by the maestro take it to the skies.. The songs of this movie are among my favourites long before I watched the movie.. From soulful voice of Javed Ali in 'Kun Faya' to Young anthem 'Sadda Haq' and the final show of 'Nadaan Parindey' & 'Phir se ud chala',they all are the best... Nargis Fakhri's acting lacked a little but considering it her debut ,she has carried it out pretty well.. Altogether this movie will hold a special place for me and its music a prominent place in my heart.. There are many more to write about this masterpiece but I lack time. So with this I will conclude my review with a rating of 8.7... Thadam - "An intriguing identical thriller"- by Ayush Dev A story of two identical twin brothers,one of them convicted of a murder, police's investigation to catch the culprit, and struggle to escape the murder... Beautifully portrayed.Simple and amazing story, and of course thrilling.. It's a softcore thriller movie which takes you on a easy ride, and yet it does not fail to give you an adrenaline rush at times.. Overall, it's gem in South Indian cinema, respect for regional cinema.. I was very much convinced with the director's ideas, I was glued to my phone while watching this movie, it ain't adrenaline rush, or a masterpiece for real suspense thriller geeks but I very much liked the movie cause of its simplicity, it's a convincing and simple movie with it's sheer beauty, it ain't seat edge thriller movie. Most thrillers have hard details to keep, but this movie's strength is it's easy-going story yet with lot of twists and turns.. The length of the movie, can't be any better, not a minute less or a minute more.. I enjoyed the first confrontation of both brother, Ezhil and Kavin cause the fight scene in police station was very raw and savage, seemed like a real kind of action.. I was very much sure from the first time, Ezhil is the culprit but sometimes I doubted my own instinct because the story telling was so powerful and full of evidence giving, as well as,Akash school love interest was Ezhil's Deepika but what my Detective Holmes's mind couldn't predict was, 'it is not police who dragged Kavin in this case, but it's Kavin, who has dragged himself into this case in order to save his brother life by confusing the police investigation'.. Background score could have been lot better, much more powerful and terrifying. Nevertheless, I can't deny the fact it was a worth a watch experience, i.e why the film has been remade in Telugu as Red with Ram Pothineni in the lead role and a Hindi-language remake with Siddharth Malhotra is also in progress. I was looking for reasons, why I should rate it below 8, couldn't find any, so I would rate it as 8.1,but don't get biased by my rating, it is an amazing movie,without hesitation,one would give a watch.. On funny Note:This movie would have been trash or hell-out-of-no tension if fingerprint of Ezhil was discovered.. Overall, it's a movie where a impractical Lawyer wins overs a bunch of practical police officers..And a message, deep enimity is a friendship.. I look forward for more suggested movies from you, My watchlist of your recommended Movies couldn't get any better start than 'Thadam'..

"Bad Genius"-Tense ride through the Genius's Brain This movie proved why a true movie lover should not just stick to one industry or region rather keep on exploring regional and world cinema bcoz a beauty like this can be found anywhere and you mustn't miss it.. This also made it clear that not only a movie with lot of twists and action can be thrilling but a beautiful portrayal of a simple story possess a potential to bring you on the edge of ur seat.. A very suitably paced movie all through the 130 minutes.. It does well to provide that very much required intensity and turns.. Right from the very start,the film builds up the plot not just focusing the lead role but also the side actors.. The good touch of humour and comedy aids to its beauty ... I had a wonderful time watching this movie . It was a indeed a heartwarming surprise perfectly blended with moral messages. This was among the very few which you can watch with your family and recommend anyone.. An apt depiction of the proverb "Money can't buy u happiness" which was clear at the end.. I cannot expect an ending like this of such a thrilling and intriguing drama.. How a small help by Lynn to her friend Grace turned out to become a heist with several members including Grace's boyfriend Pat .. The point where Bank reveals the truth and the ending where he asks Lynn to again join him are total contrasting... Lynn's Piano keys technique,Bank joining the team & being attacked by goons of Pat, Demanding extra money at the last moment,Lynn escaping from the exam hall, Devising out plans to transfer answers ..all this made me believe of a different ending .. A perfect example of what called a sleek beauty and a brilliant piece of directing with an exhilarating experience.. At last ,the intelligent and high valued message which the drama provides through Lynn confessing the organisation rejecting Bank's proposal and her father supporting her. I would love to give it 8.6/10...

"Fight Club"- A Insomniac nightmare of surprises-by Ayush Dev Amazing... The director played with the minds of the viewers in a beautiful manner. It was as if I am watching Inception part 2 ... Until the last moment ,I couldn't think how this gonna end... Starting at a slow pace,I wander how quickly that movie ended ....Wanted it to just go on and on... A thrilling example of one body, two souls... Can't think of a better ending than this and that too totally unexpected... A remarkably intense inspiring drama that kept me engaged mostly in the 2nd half... Most interesting part was that it was full of sarcasm and humour... Cinematography was really appreciable.. The movie starting with Tyler holding the narrator at gun point and then running in flashback where the narrator was shown attending support groups of different ailments all to get rid of his personal insomniac problem... Undoubtedly worth a watch.. Creating a fight club, preparing soap, assigning task to vandalise things ,blowing own flat , burning own hand, relationship with Marla and then the Project Mayhem ... everything was portrayed as if not the unnamed narrator rather his friend Tyler Durden was doing this .... The things turned out when his friend Robert Paulson was shot at head by the police for creating violence and the narrator followed Tyler's travel history just to reveal that they both were same personalities . Narrator confronting his boss ,the end fight scene and both narrator and Marla watching the buildings ,that contained debt records, collapse and turn into ruins were some best scenes.. It was very amusing to see how everyone turned out to be a member of the project and even the police officials... And most importantly the ending scene wherein narrator assumes that since they both are same ,the gun is in his hand and then shooting it into his own mouth was mind blowing... It's less than 5 hrs. that I have completed the movie and I am ready for a re-watch. 8.6/10 would be apt for the movie . I have picked my favourite lines among the best ones: "I am Jack's complete lack of surprise." "The things you own end up owning you." "Advertising has us chasing out things, working jobs we hate, so we can buy s**t we don't need."

'A Beautiful Mind'- Terrified. Petrified. Stupefied.- Ayush Dev Good... After watching Stephen Hawking's biopic,this one is 2nd in the category of getting to know about a scientist or mathematician... The film did well portraying the life story of John Nash and his illness.. His growth as a genius and then falling into a trap of delusions where what he sees and feels isn't real.... Builts sympathy for the character at places.. credit goes to the actor... Actress did justice with her part... From struggling to give his own idea to discovering the idea of governing dynamics at the bar and getting a call from MIT all went smoothly.... And then after deciphering a code building his own world of imaginative people thinking himself to be an agent of government never let me feel that it will end on this note.... How his roommate with his niece and the spy all turned out to be his mind's creation was really unexpected.... But after it was revealed that he was suffering from schizophrenia ,the story became much predictable... A biopic is intended to be portrayed this way but it could have been better in the second half.... Alicia discovering that her husband is again considering himself a spy, Nash discovering the fact that Marcee isn't aging and getting to learn ignore the hallucinations afterwards, and again returning to Princeton to meet Hansen were some merit points of the movie... Personally , I felt that this biopic was not as real and lively as 'The Theory of Everything' and not worth giving a re-watch... Nevertheless,it was able to held me till the end and brought a sense of joy especially on the pen gifting scene . All in all , this was the biopic of a beautiful mind not presented that beautifully.... I would rate it as 8 out of 10... Some lines which made me take the screenshot were -It's only in the mysterious equation of love that any logical reasons can be found. Classes will dull your mind, destroy the potential for authentic creativity . And the chat between Alicia and Nash regarding belief and love...

"Searching"-Suspense driven message- By Ayush Dev Nice concept and content.. Got to learn that it was the third movie to be shot this way.. Excellent cinematography showing use of just mobile phones,PCs,web and cctv cams,news and spy cameras.... Beautiful way of storytelling ...Made me hold my breath on the edge of the seat.. Credit goes to the actors and surely to the director for bringing it out on the screen.. How an initial cast of the story turned out to be the real culprit was portrayed very nicely.... Turning to think the viewers and Kim that his brother is guilty going through the messages... A father's detective approach for her daughter was indeed appreciable.. Roosemary Vick finding out ways to save his son from charges and driving the whole case in a wrong direction was unexpected.. The background music did the work providing the much needed suspense and thrill.. One of the most important though ignored message was how Margot's so-called 'friends' turned out at the time of her missing..and their reaction at the social media panels on knowing about her supposed death.. This indeed gives us a message that social stuffs are making us and our relationships fall apart although limiting the world as a global village.. Personally ,I was satisfied with the ending which was totally unexpected.. I would rate it as 8.2/10 Worth giving a watch which kept me engaged throughout the movie giving a thrilling experience with the screenplay...

"The Shutter Island"-The unpredictable (like me)-by Ayush Dev Very unpredictable and engaging movie... One can't understand every details of the movie in the first watch... Even can't I ..There were parts which forced me to replay it to get the essence of the shot... Kept playing with my mind with its twists and breathtaking scenery.. The director made it feel the audience what the lead character feels itself... The music and the background aids to its beauty.... This movie is enough to question your own psychological condition and blow away ur mind... The real magic unveils when Daniel meets real Rachel Solando in the cave looking for his partner Aule which turns out to be no more than his own make belief world.. The dreams and hallucinations that Teddy Daniels experiences adds to another dimension in the script... The film unfolds to be more intense and freaking as u get deeper into the plot... The director seems to be playing with the mind with every turn. The film would not have been as such without DiCaprio's presence who seemed most apt for the role. The beginning looks simple and smooth but as the movie progresses,it becomes more complex and thrilling. Personally ,I don't think that the audience will get over the questions that the movie left with even on a second watch. Everything seems to be an illusion and fake. This is one of the best in the category of psychological thriller with an unexpected story.. Reminded me off a CID episode,when Cawley & Sheehan reveals the fact that the names were anagrams and that he was the real Andrew Laeddis .. The ending left viewers amazed and think whether Andrew was really cured or not and the curtains drawing off with the dialogue-"Which would be worse - to live as a monster? Or to die as a good man?" Too much to be explained and too less to be thought over and over again.. It couldn't have been better to blow your mind. I will rate it as 8.7/10 as of now.

'96'-A tale of love, emotions and nostalgia-by Ayush Dev Spoiler Alert! Wow.... A simple ,smooth and superb quality story revolving around the lead characters.. First half hour was most relatable part for me... The planning of the reunion through their whatsapp group and Ram's revisit to the school gave me goose bumps.. The initial build up of the school story was pretty well portrayed. Their meet-up after the reunion party and the whole car scene was soothing to the eyes.. My favourite part was Jaanu returning back from her hotel room and the airport scene where Ram beads her a final goodbye.. Jaanu narrating Ram's students an improvised version of the story and all the circumstances especially Ram being present at her wedding gave a feeling that how hard can destiny strike.. At the apartment,they discussing & cursing their misfortune and Jaanu suggesting Ram to move on was heartbreaking moment.. The end wherein Ram keeping the clothes along with the memories of the school left viewers in despair.. It certainly makes it to my best south movies till date along with Dia.. It can be rated as 8.5 /10. as per my observation... Oh...I missed that singing part..It was a delight to watch that..Haha

'Dia' - The rollercoaster of emotions-by Ayush Dev Spoiler Alert! The subject itself is an apt description of the full movie... Wonderful story.. I never expected of a movie that will end on this note.. Best lines: Life is full of surprises and miracles. Life isn't about living without problems.It's about how we solve our problems and move on. Love is the root cause of both excessive happiness and extreme pain for a human. And my favourite- With love ,jealousy comes for free. You were right...It was indeed the best love story (Indian) I have seen till date.. I don't wanna go deep into plot.. I kept on thinking of whom would I be choosing if I were Dia 'Soup'... Personally, I could relate to the introversion feeling both(Dia and Rohit) were having at the start.. A movie full of twists bringing out 'uff' at every bends and corners.. The moment Adi landed on the spot where the movie began,my heart was pounding and screaming 'NO' and the very moment I felt relaxed ,there was a bang! And the movie got a final touch within a flash of seconds rendering viewers to ponder upon.... The feeling when Adi came to know that his mother could have been saved, the reception ceremony scene ,the lift scene,Adi's entry and exit ,Rohit returning back ..all were heart touching ... One of the best thing about this movie which makes it different from rest is that the audience and personally me finally rooting for a couple which is different in the first half... All in all,it was a good to watch love triangle. Rated it as 8.4/10 on my index.. Thankful to u for suggesting me this..

Parasite Movie Review- by Ayush Dev Spoiler Alert! Now that I know what a dark comedy is,I would like to venture into this genre.. Wow... That deserved an Oscar.. How quick it was? I could not believe what I have just seen..Is this what u call a masterpiece..If yes, then u r damn correct.. Perhaps this was my first Oscar winning movie and now I know that getting an Academy award is indeed a hard nut to crack.. Truly deserving that fame... Almost the whole 1st half of the movie turna out to be humourous ,and then there is Moon-gwang's re-entry into the play. How suddenly things started changing and the whole family landed in the basement with Geun-sae and his wife.. From faking Da-hye's gullible mother to be a college student,to recruiting his sister ki-jung(posing as Jessica) for the post of Da-song's tutor who would supposedly give him 'art therapy'..Ki-woo was almost successfull with his *Plan* which further employed their whole family in the business.. But destiny had its own plan.. Morse code, Peach incident,Chung-Sook's role,Driver incident, monsoon flooding everything went very quickly.. Most tragic part for me was Ki-Jung's murder.. Ki-taek stabbing Mr.Park for his disgusting behaviour at the party was something reflecting issues of social inequality and gap between rich and poor.. Conclusion was so overwhelming wherein Ki-woo was seen regretting and promising his father to buy that mansion one day.. A complete package in itself.. Deserve a rating of 9/10 acc. to me .. This movie is, what you call, to be loved and lived..
