I place htis film in my top five all-time favorites. Would love to see a remake where Premminger's ego is lost. Great story line, Acting by most of the cast is top notch...especially like Wayne, Fonda, Meredith. I'd give it 5 stars were it not for the 60's hairstyles and civilian costumes. Even with its short-comings, will still remain among my most favored.

I don't really care so much about the technical or even the artistic aspects of a film. I mainly just want to be entertained. That being said.... I love this film. I love the characters, I love the story, I love the settings, the scenery...from start to finish. And my children love it as well...in fact, they can recite most of the dialog. I count "French Kiss" among my top five favorites.
