I thought this show was great except for the last episode. Yeah, okay, we all want Vic and Walt to get together but man was that forced. And to have Walt retire after winning his big court case was just antithetical. He would never abandon the department like that until a new sheriff was found. All in all, however, the entire run was excellent and well written. You do have to suspend a lot of disbelief around the poor and fake police work that deputies do. At one point they leave a murder weapon unsecured in the woods surrounded by a dozen people, all strangers. Like it would still be there when they got back, sure. However, generally the show was well cast and well written - the Australian actor who played Walt was perfect, he was THE Walt Longmire. No one else could play that role as well as he did. He was perfect.
