I always have a soft spot for political thrillers as they peak my interest the most but apart from the banal emotional trites of a Vijay movie and and the social messages spewed by Vijay which is vapid in nature, the characterization of of a CEO played by Vijay was as spurious as a commercial movie intended to foster Vijay's image as an aspiring politician in a translucent sheep clothing of a heart warming tale of rousing changes to the political landscape of a country, the movie does a decent job in getting a certain point across efficaciously. Overall, Sarkar has a few smart scenes where brains overcome brawn though considerably finite due to the movie affording ample of space for Vijay to flex his character-betraying muscle to have implausible fight scenes and cringe inducing dance sequence and it is also a well acted movie barring some of vijay's irksome shtick when he acts.
