moments of interest/intrigue and connection to the characters but even Forest Whitaker couldn't carry this flop. LONG, dragging story - challenge after challenge without the arc of a story. NO ending. It looks like they just ran of out film, money, story.

There is a lot to like but also a lot not to like. I don’t like the Native American (Tantoo Cardinal who I love!) as the pseudo-villain similar to Longmire on Netflix - plus they did it better. I do love the cast member, Chris Burke, with down syndrome! There’s a lot of great actors in Portland and I don’t see any of them in the cast - that said, Jake Johnson has so much more to give than just his New Girl character so I’m pumped to see that! Plus, Camryn Manheim?!?! Yaaaaas! It’s way too gritty for what Portland actually is now and a bit outdated with the pseudo-suicide girls in some scenes, etc. Finally, Seattle is the coffee city not Portland. It’s just real heavy on bad cliché and light on depth. If you’re going to be that cliché why not include Powells books, Voo Doo donuts, etc.? There was nothing about the pilot that makes me want to watch the second show other than a great sense that they’re building into something substantial. So I will tune in. Fingers crossed it gets a lot better!
