I think this is one of the most excellent series the abc has produced. The acting, the characters, the historical stories have captured those times so well. It is also truly representive of how the media works. I have watched the entire series and I recommend this to anyone who wants insight into how media happened in that decade. It is fully deserving of 5 stars

I’ve read one other book by this author, Family Secrets, which I quite enjoyed. This one I am finding increasingly frustrating as the characters are all rather fatuous and irritating. Ms Byrski also writes with an element of that high brow Britishness. The characters all seem to be very comfortably off and nothing grubby about them. All interpersonal problems are resolved and discussed without too much drama. Infact this book is like a fairytale rather than real life which I prefer. Easy to read without a great deal of thought.

This was without doubt one of the most disturbing, depressing and confusing movies I think I have ever watched. Weirdly I wanted to see it out to the end but I was none the wiser even then. Maybe my intellect wasn’t up to it but it was just overloaded with strangeness.
