Music Has its Way With Me, a collaboration between Halifax Jazz alchemist Jerry Granelli and fellow Nova Scotian and Hip-Hop innovator, Buck 65 (1200 Hobos/anticon.Sebutones, AKA DJ Stinkin' Rich, Richard Terfry) is an incredible turn-of-the-century harbinger that unknowingly heralds the madness that would follow it. The music here is directed, accurate and compelling. Its ease of use belies the complexity of composition it rightly boasts.The tracks are timed so well as to demand a classical appreciation, or at least a desire to appreciate classically.The album reflects a Black Swan-esque, perfectionist ideology seemingly inherent to both composers. This naturally touches about the deeply various excellence delivered by all the additional talent who came together to give us this record.
