The movie captured the horror of WWI and of the bravery and resistance of every day Americans. I'm still touched by one soldiers dream job as a civilian is an elevator operator. You come to question the general's decision to send them into battle with false promises and end with an ethical question of the end justifying the means. I came away with a new respect for my great uncles who fought in this war.
