I didn't care for the very distinct "woke" rewrite of history. It's like nothing can be historical fact anymore, it all has to be rewritten to the lens of being woke and self victimization. The script was all over the place and the incessant flip flopping of timelines within a single episode was maddening. They should have done this only for the first episode and then studied each first lady in its own episode. Beyond that, I have huge praise especially for Michelle Pfeiffer in her portrayal of Betty Ford. I Believe Miss Pfeiffer managed to overcome the glaring gaps in the script with the gravitas of her performance. I might also say the same for Gillian Anderson. She was also wonderful and I am very impressed with her as well. Lily Rabe as Mrs Roosevelt's partner Hick turned in a really superb performance as a supporting cast member as always The woman who played Michelle Obama, she was all right but I don't know what was going on with her pursing of the lips. I don't feel that Mrs. Obama looks like that. Or sounds like that either for that matter. I don't know the woman's name, the actress who played her. But she I think was miscast. There were some very good story arcs for Betty Ford and Mrs. Roosevelt, but I thought the inclusion of Mrs Obama was a little bit too soon. She's still very much in the now. I think they should have selected another first lady, even Jackie O wouldn't have been inappropriate. Finally, the guy who played Barack Obama I didn't think resembled him at all and played him more like a Rich Little caricature. I thought it was rather disrespectful to the President actually.

Jean Smart dazzles brilliantly as lead character Deborah Vance. This is, in my opinion her best role ever. I loved season 1 and season 2 was pretty damn good as well. This show has a great supporting cast and even though I'm NOT overly fond of the Ava character, in general, she has a somewhat endearing quality despite that she's a ragingly entitled Millennial. I don't want to spoil anything for anyone who hasn't seen season 2's finale. However, while I liked the overall arc for Deborah's character, the ending felt too much like an end. It felt too cold and abrupt. I don't know that they're going to renew this show for a 3rd season. But I hope they do, because if that was the end: it lacked all the undercurrents of warmth and real heart that I think were the epitome of this show. I think it would really be criminal for them to stop where they did.

Although I'm pretty sure that this series is not 100% accurate and of course they take "creative license"; but I absolutely love it! Fantastic storyline with a driving narrative. It's all about the underdog, the magic of true artistry triumphing over cynicism and finally about the human condition and relationships and connection with our fellow man. It's a damn fine show.

I don't care that this was supposed to be a commercial and critical flop. I don't think that the critics understood country because they're all from LA and New York. I thought that Stallone and Parton were excellent in the roles. I also don't think they took the time to understand the story line itself. I love this movie and have seen it hundreds of times in the last 35 plus years!

I must say that as a casual (at best) fan of Julia Roberts - I only have really enjoyed her in Steel Magnolias, Pretty Woman and Erin Brockovich... I have found her irresistible and dynamic as Martha Mitchell. IMO, this is her finest performance. I think she has evolved into a truly excellent actress. As she's more mature now, the pathos she demonstrates in this role it's really phenomenal. I highly recommend it. It's a very entertaining comedy/drama based on real events.

It was even better than the first movie. MUCH better actually. More poignant, dramatic and lovely. Sadder too, in some ways.
