I didn't hate it but I didn't love it. I did love the diversity and the idea of it. However, I found myself cringing at how overdramatized and unrealistic it was. Sometimes girl power movies really hit and other times not. This one didn't in my opinion. Personally, I feel like the "crush the patriarchy" thing is pretty over done. And as an 18 year old girl, it wasn't super empowering. It didn't feel relatable. It felt forced and definitely written by someone who is not in touch with today's teenagers. It felt like radio rebel, with a little less originality and more feminism. Don't get me wrong, I love an empowering movie for us ladies. But I don't think this one was done right.
