If you're a history buff who's interested in any of the world wars, not just the battles but the effects it had on many, especially those back at home, then this is a rather good book. Granted it's better in its original French version solely because it's from the eyes of a French man. A little bit of mature content to deal with but it's not 50 shades of Grey so don't worry. Sure it is a little slow in the beginning, and the middle, and a little towards the end but this book is more a psychological read than an action read.
