A game like this comes around once in a generation; a culmination and satisfying conclusion to the journey of a character nearly twenty years in the making, reflecting the journey and changes of those who have been with the series as it has progressed.
It is a masterwork of character driven storytelling with engaging, gripping combat and exploration. I cried, I laughed, I was shocked, I was smiling to my ears with glee, and all the emotions in between.
To speak briefly about the gameplay - the fundamentals are solid, with great depth, and used well to drive the great array of activities available within the game - overall it is a blast to play and an intriguing world to explore, with plenty of content which all feels rewarding and relevant to the story being told.
While no game is without its flaws, the few narrative missteps here are quickly righted, and I can think of only a handful of other games that have so heavily challenged me to evaluate its themes and subject matter. I left the game with a new perspective, and I feel better for having played it.
