As a big fan of the books, I was devastated to see the drastic changes to the story line. The first 20 to 30 minutes of the first episode is completely new material and the woke casting is horrible. They eliminated important characters and added some for others. A big let down on an amazing novel series. Bummer. But I gave it a shot and I'm glad there was interest in making it. I wish that politics was left out of rewriting classics.
