Great game with fun characters and story, and an amazing sense of style. While simple, the combat is fun, and all the bosses provide a fun and satisfying challenge. The only issue I have with this game is that sometimes it can feel like a slog (the Amami Monolith dungeon for example), but if you push through it, you're left with an amazing and unique game. While i wouldn't recommend it as a first Megami Tensei game, I'd definitely say give it a shot.
