I read this before the authors first book "the only thing to fear" although I still understood the setting the power system and it gave an air of mystery to the main character of the first book for me. I thoroughly enjoyed the setting and the characters the action scenes felt like a movie and. Would honestly love to see these books brought to the big screen.

It's good text to see the mind set of colonialism.
