Usually I don’t like horror shows or movies, but this one has become one of my favorites. Maybe that’s because it’s not fully a horror — it’s that, but also drama, and sci-fi. A great blend is offered, and it builds up very nicely with time jumps done perfectly along the way. No confusion, just suspense. Mike Flanagan really pays tribute to Edgar Allan Poe in this series in the most epic of ways. Carla Gugino delivers an acting masterclass as Verna, aka the Raven, delivering poetic justice! I would love to see a spinoff with her character front and center. Bruce Greenwood’s powerful performance is also worthy of high praise. 4.5/5 for me.

When the first part of the movie ended I thought it was a good film, but I didn’t think it deserved Best Picture. It wasn’t *that* good. Then I watched the second part of the film… and I changed my mind. The wins at the Oscar are arguably well deserved. I can’t recall ever seeing a movie quite like this, and I totally understand why it got such high praise. Definitely recommend watching it!

If you enjoyed The OA, then this one is for you! Brilliant writing, storytelling, and acting! A psychological thriller with a potential sci-fi classification. I rarely give 5 stars to a tv series, but this is well earned. If I must level a criticism, it would be that the pace of the middle episodes was a bit slow. Still, I think the fact that I kept watching says a lot. Where lots of shows lose you before the punch line, this one keeps you in its grip! Looking forward to more!

During the movie, I got goosebumps, I got to excited, and I got sad. After the movie was over, the fantasy continued in my mind just like when I was a child. What more could a person want from a movie? This is why I rate this movie so highly.
