Grew up reading the Spenser mysteries written by Parker. This movie just uses Spenser's and Hawk's names only, according to the portion of the movie I watched. The movie is not even close to the original premise of the books. Somebody took poetic license and tried to make this current version of Spenser palatable to millennials and failed miserably. I made it through 12 minutes and turned it off. Was looking forward to this and ended up being extremely disappointed. The Spenser I grew up with had taste and refinement with a classy girlfriend. And he was tough and street smart. The popularity of the old Spenser was because of this. He would have never had a trashy blonde piece of trash like that portrayed in this movie. Apparently whoever came up with this new Spenser missed this point. Probably just a suit who thought they established what people really like. Not the other way around - like reality. This movie is a major let down. Thanks for nothing Mr. Berg.
