This novel was such an amazing page turner. The depth of characters and the scope of the details of the book were outstanding. The scenario portrayed of a desperate Russia unveiling a plan to regain control of a rare earth mine from the West showcases the wonder and horror of modern air, land, sea and space combat. The incredible characters will have your heart racing while all of the different threads combine into one master work remiscent of Tom Clancy's epic Red Storm Rising. Truth be told - I enjoyed Red Metal just as much - if not more than Red Storm Rising. I demand for a follow up book which has been nicely alluded to in the final pages. Get this book - you will not be disappointed! You will, however need to cancel your plans as you will not be setting it down. This story put a tear in my eye during some more heart wrenching moments for the characters whom you get attached to.
