*slight spoiler* Read this in 9th grade (I'm now in my 2nd year of university) and I remember I got really sick during the *attack scene* but otherwise I actually loved this book and still remember some of the lessons in it today.
I think it teaches some wonderful lessons on respect and empathy :)
