Finally..... another Star Trek series with quality writing. It features Intelligent interchanges between characters. Action and special effects not overdone and it has interesting plot lines. Looking forward to further episodes. After watching the 3rd episode, I am still enjoying the series. The one area that I think could use some work is in the direction of the second in command. She appears too dominate & contentious toward the captain. She should be more deferential. Similar to the chain of command relationship with Picard and # 1. There isn't a need to solve a male/female conflict......by the time the series takes place, these issues should be resolved for anyone reaching the rank and status of the characters.

Simply the best -- writing, direction, acting, photography, sets, and location--you name it. Great for an afternoon binge !!
